Gangula Lodge is in a jungle setting. You may see wild fowl and monkeys. If you don't see monkeys, you will certainly hear them.

The double bedroom comprises of one double bed for two people. There is no AC but there is a stand-up fan to help you keep the room cool. There is a mosquito net too.

The private attached bathroom comes with toilet, douche, wash basin and hot water shower.

There is free wifi so you can keep in touch with families and friends.

There is ample parking space to park your vehicle at the front.

Your host is Bandara. He will do his best to ensure that you have a pleasant stay.

Breakfast is available at the price of 350 rupees per person.
Sigiriya is in the cultural triangle of Dambulla (19 kms) and Polonnaruwa (54 kms), and as such is an ideal stay over point. The Sigiriya Rock itself (known literally as Lion's Rock) can be seen on all sides and with its 180 m height, this rock fortress is impressive. It will take you approx. 1 hour to ascend the rock, and 30 minutes to descend the 1,200 steps. The frescoes are world famous, and the intricate palace is a place of wonder. It became a World Heritage site recognised by UNESCO in 1982.

Tourist activities in the area include elephant riding, buffalo cart riding and shopping for artifacts and batiks. There are also ayurvedic massages in the area but the best ones are located in the area of Habarana.

To travel around,  go to the main road and wave down a tuktuk to take you where you wish to go. Close by there is also a bicycle hire shop, next to The Croissant Hut (my favourite place for eating).

There is also a regular bus service to Dambulla.
