It is about 1 km to Sigiriya Rock, and 10 mins tuktuk ride to the main town centre with the restaurants and shops. The bedroom itself comprises of one double bedroom for two people.

There is no AC but there is a ceiling fan to help you keep the room cool. There is a mosquito net too.

The private attached bathroom comes with toilet, douche, wash basin and hot water shower.

There is free wifi so you can keep in touch with families and friends.

Your host is Indika. He and his family will be on hand to help you. Other guests that I met, raved about Indika's generous hospitality.

Breakfast is not included in the price. For more information, best to chat with Indika about what is available and the price.

Sigiriya is in the cultural triangle of Dambulla (19 kms) and Polonnaruwa (54 kms), and as such is an ideal stay over point. The Sigiriya Rock itself (known literally as Lion's Rock) can be seen on all sides and with its 180 m height, this rock fortress is impressive. It will take you approx. 1 hour to ascend the rock, and 30 minutes to descend the 1,200 steps. The frescoes are world famous, and the intricate palace is a place of wonder. It became a World Heritage site recognised by UNESCO in 1982.

Tourist activities in the area include elephant riding, buffalo cart riding and shopping for artifacts and batiks. There are also ayurvedic massages in the area but the best ones are located in the area of Habarana.

The Sigiriya Riverside Homestay is in a jungle setting. You may see wild fowl and monkeys. If you don't see monkeys, you will certainly hear them.
From the main Sigiriya Road, there is also a regular bus service to Dambulla.
