There is AC and a ceiling fan to help you keep the room cool.There is cable TV in the room.

There is a private attached bathroom with toilet, douche, wash basin and hot water shower.
Wifi may not be possible from your room, but is available in public areas.

Outside your room, there are chairs to sit on. Relax and read a book or enjoy the sounds and sights of the garden. There is also a restaurant on the premises for meals and drinks.

The famous Sigiria Rock is only 15 minutes drive away.

Your host is Tharaka. His speciality is organising safari packages in the area.

Polonnaruwa Road is the road that connects Habarana Junction to Polonnaruwa. As such it is a main road with plenty of traffic. Vaana Resort can be found about 800m from the Habarana Junction down a track on the left hand side. It is 500 metres down this track, and therefore is away from the traffic noise.

It is located next to Kadahatha Lake which offers a lot of opportunities to enjoy nature.

Habarana itself is on the route direct from Trincomalee to Dambulla. The bus stops at the Habarana junction for travellers who want to go to Sigiriya. Whilst going to Sigiriya would involve catching two buses, taking a tuktuk is shorter and quicker as they use back roads not practical for bus transport.

Habarana is 17 kms from Sigiriya, 19 kms from Dambulla, 54 kms to Polonarruwa and 82 kms to Trincomalee. It is a small town of only about 5,000 to 10,000 people. It is used as a base for visiting other places of interest such as Sigiriya Rock and Minneriya National Park. As such there are many hotels and guest houses in the area.

Homly Guest of Habarana is a large house offering both family rooms with two double beds and double rooms with one double bed. Situated in Habarana, 8 km from Sigiriya and 20 km from Dambulla.

The family room has AC whereas the double rooms are non-AC. All rooms have ceiling fans. Each bedroom has a private attached bathroom with toilet, douche, wash basin and hot water shower. There is free wifi throughout the premises and ample parking space to park your vehicle at the front.

Your hosts are the young couple, Tushara and his wife Anushika. They will be at hand to ensure you have a pleasant stay.

Great Reviews: Amazing place to stay if you plan on visiting Habarana, Dambula, Sigiriya or Pollunuara. My room was very clean with attached bathroom. The shower had hot water. The couple who runs the place are so kind and helpful. They helped me arrange a safari and gave me tons of info on buses etc. the food was delicious and the portions were VERY large. I highly recommend this guest house.

Saffron Nest, Habarana, Sigiriya

Situated in just a stone throw away from the small city of Habarana, Saffron Nest provides an easily accessible setting for a stay. The bungalow is fully furnished and is ideal for a honeymoon couple or for a small travel group who are on the way to explore the cultural and historical cities of Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa.

The first cottage comprises of a master bedroom with a double poster bed, a second bedroom with two singles, a lounge, kitchen and one bathroom. The second cottage is smaller, and comprises of one double bed, kitchen and bathroom. The bedrooms all have mosquito nets and AC.

Udu and his wife Thilaka will be your hosts and look after your every need.

Breakfast is not included and is available at the price of 450 rupees (approx. US3) per person. It is a full breakfast and well worth the price. Breakfast is served across the road at the Habarana Inn.

The main activity in the area lies around Habarana junction with a Food City for supermarket supplies, and other high street shops such as a chemists and a small restaurant/takeaway.
