You can arrive when you like at the Big John Guest House as they have a concierge 24 hours a day. They work on a 24 hour stay. That is if you check in at 7 pm, then you can stay until 7 pm the next day.

There are sea views from the common balcony on the first floor.

Some rooms have AC but all rooms have private bathrooms and ceiling fans.

Internet may not be available in the room, however you can get access to internet from the Big John Guest House lobby area, enabling you to keep in touch with family and friends.

Meals can be provided, many at less than 500 rupees according to the current menu card.

Whilst the the Big John Guest House is located at one end of a peaceful cul de sac, the other end leads into the busy Galle Road. From here you can go directly to uptown Colombo. The other direction takes you to Mount Lavinia.

You can get around by tuktuk or bus, though the buses tend to be slow.
