There is a stand up fan but no AC. It is normal in Ella not to have air conditioning because the climate is not as oppressive as the lowlands of Sri Lanka.
The rooms are spacious with free wifi, enabling you to keep in touch with friends and family. The private attached bathroom comprises of a wash basin, toilet, douche and a hot water shower.
What is impressive about Ella Rock Inn, is its views. There are balconies outside your room and in the restaurant that offer some spectacular photo taking opportunities. You can see Ella Rock, Ella Gap and Litte Adam’s Peak.
One note of caution. There are two ways to access Ella Rock Inn. One is from the top road via Passara Road. The other way is walking by the bridge along Wellawaya Road before the temple. This last option, although picturesque, is small, steep and partly of stones. Not recommended if in wet conditions or in the dark.
