Situated above Petit Restaurant which is a family run business specialising in seafood, curries, burgers and snacks. The owner Joseph and his wife therefore offer a very warm and friendly welcome. Price excludes breakfast. The restaurant (featured in Lonely Planet) is most importantly open all day for drinks, breakfast, lunch and dinner and is excellent value compared to other restaurants in the area.

The property is located in an area called Palagathura junction which is basically located at the north end of “beach Rd” which is the main strip with all the bars & restaurants.

In the last 12 months Palagathura junction has been transformed and now comprises of some of the best bars & restaurants in Negombo. However with a huge difference than the rest of Negombo, better quality and lower prices than the established bars like Lords, Rodeo & Serendip which are situated near to Jetwing Blue.

Anne Residence, Negombo Beach North, Negombo

Anne Residence in Negombo has spacious modern rooms that have plenty of room for to unwind. Lots of room for suitcase storage, one has a mini kitchen with kettle, fridge, sink, cups, glasses etc. A small but nice balcony with seating area overlooking the Dutch Canal. Just sit back and watch the fisherman go by in their little boats. New modern furnished rooms added to a peaceful tranquil location. And yet only 150 metres from Negombo beach make this residence simply perfect.

Room also has a flat screen TV with local channels and a wardrobe for hanging your clothes.

Guests also have access to the ground floor patio seating area which is covered to protect you from the sun. This is where the optional breakfast is served.

The hosts are a lovely Sri Lankan family, Jude, his wife and eldest daughter Anne ( of whom the property is named after) who will look after your every need.

Jude is in fact an amazing chef, he is working in one of the top hotels in the area. He can provide you with breakfast including juices, fresh fruit, eggs and toast etc for a local price of 1000 rupees (7 euro) per person or continental breakfast for 600 rupees (5 euro) per person.

St. Anne’s Lane is a quiet street located behind ” beach road” therefore making the beach just a 5 minute walk away and all the bars and restaurants of Negombo just a short 7 minute walk away.

The Dutch Canal is behind the property and canal trips can be organised for you.

Great Reviews: Excellent communication from Andy- his driver Raj picked us up from the airport on a late arrival & then drove us up to Sigiriya. All organised via Andy. Strongly recommend using Andy when you first get into town and then onwards. The room was as described, great on site host. Great spot to over night and worth it for the hassle free factor you get with Andy helping you out- his driver Raj come also highly recommended for the extended drive up country.

Lovely house in Negombo,this family is so nice,dad tell us how to travel in Sri Lanka,mum cook delicious sea food for us,daughter is so beautiful but shy. Their house is 400 metres away from the beach,our room is in upstair,there is a balcony,we can feel the sunshine,hear the birds singing,take a fresh air-breath when we wake up in the morning.This house also like a little zoo,i can see many small animals everywhere,like ants,gecko,and i like this natrural and local experience.Thanks for Andy’s providing,we appreciate the house-owner’s helping us.

 

Bee Beach Guest House, Negombo

Want to be close to the beach? then these rooms are ideal for you. Bee Beach is a beach bar & restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Roshan the resort manager is very warm and friendly and will look after your every need. The bar/restaurant is open all day for drinks, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

However please be aware that because this is a “beach bar” they do play music from 11am til 10pm so this property is not ideal for someone wanting total peace & quiet throughout the day. If you do then we suggest Anne Residence just down the road in a quiet residential cul de sac

Excellent Reviews: The location of bees beach was spot on! Great food, good service. Everything is as described in the listing. The room had air con, towels, soap and secure locks on the door- which for a girl travelling alone is important! This didn’t bother me but maybe take note that there are no brows from the room window- just a wall- but this kept direct sunlight out keeping the room nice and cool. Which is a god send in heat of over 40 degrees! I would recommend staying here and would stay again myself 🙂

The Citadel Guest House and Apartments consist of 3 apartments one if which has air conditioning and hot water and three rooms all powered by ceiling fans. Each room has a mosquito net over the bed. The apartments and the family room have kitchens with fridges and all kitchenware, these are either shared or private.

Your host is Sumith (who is an ex merchant navy officer) and his lovely family.

Amazing hosts, amazing room! We loved our stay here. It is a bit far away from the main beach, but we liked that. The beach in front of the door was nice and quiet. We had the new bungalow at the very back with a huge bed, great mosquito net and a fantastic bathroom. The owners are very, very friendly.

Proximity to the beach is perfect. Off the main road so quieter but very close to everything. Really helpful staff. Great space including balcony area. We didn’t even use the kitchen but its nice to have use of the fridge.
